Carmageddon comic

The Carmageddon Comic

Whoa! Flashback!

Way back in 2000, we created an online comic based on the Carmageddon video game, for games company SCi. SCi is now one of the biggest publishers in Europe, having recently bought Eidos (the company behind Tomb Raider). Their amazing success in games publishing began the moment they hired us, although we have no firm evidence to back that up.

Carmageddon was influenced by movies like Death Race 2000 and Mad Max, and featured a red-faced psycho named Max Damage. The object of the game was to drive around and destroy rival cars, before the time on the clock ran out. You got more time by running over innocent pedestrians, with bonuses for particularly inventive kills. For some reason, this proved controversial. In some versions of the game, the pedestrians were replaced with zombies.

You might get more out of the comic if you're familiar with the game, but it's not a requirement. This was our first comic, and I think it turned out ok. It's a little bit daft, a little bit sick, and hopefully a little bit fun.
